Exposed Aggregate

Exposed aggregate concrete is an attractive option for all types of surfaces.

Created by pouring concrete with round pea gravel as an aggregate, the top layer of concrete is washed away, exposing the tops of the stones. The surface is typically finished with a high-gloss seal. Westland Concrete carries the materials needed to create an exposed aggregate finish.

Though exposed aggregate is used primarily for aesthetic reasons, it's just as strong and durable as standard concrete. Exposed aggregate is a great way to add a personal touch to your property. Use exposed aggregate concrete on:

  • Driveways
  • Walking paths
  • Patios
  • Outdoor steps
  • Garden curbs
  • Retaining walls

Exposed aggregate, like any concrete, must be resealed every year to maintain its strength and visual appeal. Because exposed aggregate is slicker than standard concrete, it is not recommended in high-speed areas.
